Convert routing result into a set of 2D points

I'm thinking about implementation to store routes to kml files. To do that I need to get a list of points and serialize it.
But I stuck a bit in routing-related code - it is quite complex. I see how we operate with start/end point, and also see a Segment class that, as I understand, represents part of the path of mwm-stored map. But is there any layer, where route is stored as 2d points, so I can take them and store?
Any hints how to plug in it into routing module are welcome.

Aren't 2d points for a route printed in the logs from the C++ core?

thanks, for logging only DebugPrintTurns are called with logging of TurnPoints, but around this code I was able to find m_poly inside route - looks like it is what is required
