I’ve learned that there won’t be an extensions track at PGConf.dev this year—only the extensions summit. While having a summit is great, it feels insufficient. The conversations I had with people in the hallways of PGConf.dev in Vancouver convinced me there’s strong interest in extensions-focused content. Based on my (admittedly limited) survey, at least a few extensions-focused talks were rejected from PGConf.dev this year due to capacity and scope limitations. There’s a possibility that PGConf.dev 2026 will include a dedicated track, but in the meantime, I wonder if there’s interest in this community for an event—whether offline, online, or hybrid—focused specifically on extensions this year. Let me know! |

I would note that my talks aimed at helping people get started with extensions development and Postgres development were also not selected. I would like to say I support the idea of a parallel event. Of course practicalities are likely to be complex. If we cannot do anything else, maybe we can take over some community spaces with a track schedule? |

So far, it does look like the content is rather light on extensions: https://2025.pgconf.dev/schedule.html |

If you submitted an extension-related talk to PGConf.dev this year and got rejected, would you be willing to present it elsewhere? Online or otherwise, provided you will have the right audience.
Or at least share an abstract here to gauge interest?
