How to call a supabase edge function from another edge function without traffic hair-pinning?

If I use the edge function domain it will resolve to an external public IP and traffic will be hair-pinned which will add more latency to the request. (which could be avoided)

Is name resolution handled within the edge function to give a private/internal IP when used from within the edge function?
If this is not happening by default, any guidance to achieve it?
