Upload of huge files/videos

We need a concept for upload of really huge files, for example 4K video recordings (mov files with 1 to 4 gb).

• New WebDAV endpoint
• Chunking (NG)
• User feedback during upload (Small size difference in videos automatically uploaded ios-legacy#1040 (comment))
• Adding files for upload inside ownCloud iOS app
• Add files to Files app integration from 3rd party apps
• Send files directly to ownCloud iOS app from 3rd party apps
• Instant/Background Upload from new Photos/Videos/Screenshots (triggered by geolocation?)

Open questions:

• When user upload a file, can they then leave the app or turn off the phone screen (not completely turn off the phone) and the upload continues (like App Store downloads or Netflix downloads that continue downloading even if you don't have the app open)? Or do I have to tell him to leave the ownCloud app open until the upload has finished?
• Do we need notification if ownCloud iOS is in background and will be shut down soon? (dropbox reminds me to open app again)
• Do we process the videos or images? (Small size difference in videos automatically uploaded ios-legacy#1040)
• oC server usually clean up chunks from unfinished uploads after 24h
• MDM vs. background activity
