What do you mean with the idea of "make an JD inhibitor"? What will it do? What use is it, etc. Please clarify.

I guess it might be about something like this but with inverse effect that would increase required energy instead of reducing it
(if this ever gets done should be easy to adapt / configure for both ways)

Basically have a few reactors to feed it, and we can have hubs for ships across the server?

Jeremy
Sure, i think having some sort of new advanced power bank/battery that is hard to craft, meant specifically for JD hubs would be interesting

SX
Mostly having stuff included from linked request #387 would make it interesting, even more if such subspace beacons allows digiline control for its behavior.

Klaranth
Stuff included. there is no stuff in that issue that CAN be included.

The4spaceconstants
imagine being able to craft air, then encasing it in a glass frame, then going to the border to then make a nodespace, then you can just stack nodespaces and put power banks in them to do that

SX
Well, it's stuffed with a JD inhibitor idea which I read as a thing that has ability to repel jumpdrive. Though that's just how I understand it.

JD Inhibitor will let you jump in but not out of the area for a limited time, no more than 1 per ship

The4spaceconstants
so, jd fly nets?

SX
Very complicated to enforce per ship, not as complicated per area counting since last arrival. Such device however sure is a bit controversial and probably also its use would need many special restrictions.

Klaranth
Or, just change the usage of a Jumpdrive itself? Say a cooldown period?

wf13
yeah, per however many chunks that an R15 can have in it at one time will work.
that is power input for most though mese is instant no one uses that for big uses

The4spaceconstants
should only work in warzone

wf13
no, it should work everywhere

Klaranth
No one ? :)

The4spaceconstants
why should you be trapping players outside of warzone

wf13
it has a cool down
yes no one I know powers there ship in survival off of mese exclusively.

frog
obviously not exclusively but i do often use it
now that i think about it, exlusively could be really good

Klaranth
When I had my multiminer I often used mese to move 4R15 ships.

SX
There's been various warzone combat ship designs that do this, various general purpose ship and scout ships especially when working underground. There's more smaller ships than large ships that use mese and most are for working underground but also others.
Also personally I used mese jumpdrives all the time for moving stuff around because it is easy to just grab engine and mese stack from backpack anywhere anytime.

Swissa1pS has a public quarry using exclusively mese to autojump.
