Is swallowing errors from the verify function intentional?

Hey all! I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug. Feel free to clarify and close if this is the intended behavior. My use case is I want to throw an error when a request is made for an email that is not registered in the database.

Expected behavior:
Throwing an error in the verify function should be caught/thrown when initiating the strategy.

Actual behavior:
The error is swallowed

Proposed solution:
I think we could add a try/catch on the line below to forward errors thrown during verification.
