Screen orientation for portable linux computers

Description of issue

Can the geometry argument have a display rotation value for use on devices linux portable devices that cannot be booted into a screen rotation? I wanted to try running this on a steamdeck but this only boots into portrait. as far as I can read in the manual and --help, this can only be changed by rotating the display server which is problematic for such a device.
