I'am running it on OS X 11.7.10 but it doesn't show any devices.
After starting I only can see this in Terminal:
[12:12:23.306] main:952 Starting aircast version: v1.8.3 (Feb 1 2024 @ 01:11:02)
[12:12:23.307] main:959 no config file, using defaults
[12:12:23.307] Start:709 Binding to 192.168.178.145 [en1] with mask 0xffffff00
[12:12:23.310] Start:735 Starting pico HTTP server on port 57080

My other normal Airplay Devices and my Sonos are shown in iTunes at the Mac or my Ios devices.
Iam shure i made a mistake but I don't know which.
Thanxs :-)

Probably an issue with firewall or your network topology where multicast announces are blocked across different branches of your network (WiFi / Ethernet). Your router might have a feature called IGMP snooping that causes issues.

I am having the same issue, I have now enabled UPNP and SIP ALG on my router but still no luck!

I don’t believe that they is a connection with the IGMP snooping.
I tried the tool under Home Assistant and yes it does work. All my Aircast devices are shown. The streaming works as well.
But I don’t want to upgrade to HA at the Moment.
My Homebridge setup works great for me.
Und would be great to hear other ideas to get this issue solved.
Greetings from Rhineland Germany 😊

After searching for a bit longer I might have some new info, the IP address shown in the logs here is not my IP address even though host networking is on! any ideas?

The 13:07 … can not be the ip address.
in my opinion.

Exactly DieBreuers, according to you what should I do now>
is it easier to install home assistant on my Mac mini server rather than trying to install this AirConnect thing in docker?

@DieBreuers

I don’t know.
Airconnect doesn’t work on my Mac.
Home Assistant is nice. But at the moment I don’t want to use it. Airconnect directly on Mac would be nice. But I don’t know to fix it.
At the moment Iam using my sonos speaker only.

Hmm Thank you for your help, it surprises me that people like me who this software will greatly benefit can't even get over a simple installation and I am quite tech savvy, It feels bad giving up on this after trying for 2 weeks but if even phillipe won't help me then I dont know who will.

If you are tech savvy, you should be able to download the zip archive, unzip it, open a terminal and manually launch aircast or air upon. Use the static version as macOS is really trouble with some shared library.

Look at closed issues, there are tons of people who struggled a bit and finally got it to work.

Philippe (I) can't write multiple free software, so the L1 to L3 tech support and have a life.

I don't mean that in a aggressive manner, it's just the facts of what these things are.

didn't mean to offend you bro, but yeah I did all that and it still won't work, only if I could have you take a look at my system for 5 minutes I know you'd fix it, I dont doubt your skills and im very very thankful for this software which you have made, it has probably changed many lives, I just wish it could change my families life as well, is there no way for you to look into my system directly. only for 5 mins?, and why is my IP address showing up as 172.xxx.xx.xx? when it is 192.168.xx.xx? is that normal or changing that will fix my issue?

No I don't do that, for all sort of security reasons and for your own good. At least, I'd need to see a log when you start AirConnect like @DieBreuers showed

When you say "it works under HA", you mean on the same Mac, if you ran HA and then add the AirConnect extension that somebody else did?

Screenshot 2024-09-22 at 10 55 15 PM here is the only log I can provide as of now as it only runs through docker. trying to install the binary through just macOS terminal gives all sorts of errors which im sorry I can't understand yet, im still learning. im in a desperate situation man otherwise id just go and buy 15 new HomePods but im not that rich. I just dont feel right giving up after trying for 2 weeks. I know you dont do that but is there any chance you can do it for me for 2 minutes? max security according to you, FaceTime call watsapp call? anything? I have already told my family I'll fix it!!!!, and I understand if you dont want to do it but you are my last absolute hope!

Look on the internet how to download and unzip the file from github and run an application from a command line. When you have that, take a screenshot

Yes I have tried it without the same Mac.
Ive been curios if the issue will be there, too.
Ive Used Virtual Box and the Image directly from https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/macos.
And there it has been working. All devices has been shown and the streaming worked as well.
The Album Cover and so on, too.
In my opinion shows that, there is no problem with the Router in my Network.
Something else don't want to let me use your great tool.

You mean "with" the same Mac, right? If this is the case and it worked in a VB, then this is really related to how the network access is configured when you run it otherwise. You are sure that the network address where it is bound to is the physical address of your network? Do you have 2 networks on this Mac, like Ethernet and WiFi and the VB machine would pickup WiFi but in the command line [en] is used by aircast by default

Note that the macOS firewall will need to be disabled entirely. I wasn't able to make it work by just adding the specific AirConnect binaries to the firewall exceptions for inbound connections.

(alrcast-macoS-armo4-StatIC), now when | attempted to manually launch It last time, it might have worked?!!?! can you please check??

I dont see me devices yet but It might have run properly this time!, the binary now has an "exec" icon! AM I CLOSE???

You're close. Use the static binary instead -- this has all the required libraries included, so you won't get the lib crypto issue. Your speakers should be discovered fairly quickly if it's working.
