Documenting PlayCanvas .compressed.ply format and other formats support

Following last week discussion at the The Metaverse Standards Forum Gaussian splat Town, as well as supersplat spz format support discussion here playcanvas/supersplat#308 (comment), I just wanted to open that thread here to track

• the documentation effort of PlayCanvas .compressed.ply format
• as well as support within that js CLI of other gaussian-splats formats import/export like:
  • nianticlabs/spz
  • cesium gltf extension KHR_gaussian_splatting (comment)
  • mkkellog/ksplat
  • antimatter15/.splat etc

Note not all formats have settled down so such a discussion might be early
Feel free to close it if it messes up things!

Yep this great, thanks for opening the issue.

We did sort of document the initial compressed.ply for back in the day with a forum post, see https://blog.playcanvas.com/compressing-gaussian-splats/.

We have since added support for spherical harmonics and so you're right this all needs proper documentation.
