Implement quality setting in html viewer #366

It would be a great addition if an SH Value slider could be added to the front end web html, so that a full SH3 splat can be uploaded, but if sluggish for the end user, they can reduce the SH value for performance.

This way, the creator doesn't have to choose between quality and performance targets.

I would rather have quality setting of high or low:

  • high: use SH, full res
  • low: no SH, half res

I don't think we want to the end user to know or care what spherical harmonics are.

Yep, performance v quality - I agree, they wouldn't have the faintest idea in the normal user stance, but a simple slider that improve performance is all that's needed.

or maybe even an auto switch that detects processor?
