Opening this as an issue to remind us -- eventually we should consider using an existing MRS library to do the conversion directly to Nifti: https://github.com/openmrslab/suspect

(no need to change now, just a note for future if this is going to be a regular component of a pipeline)

Also looks like it supports Philips, which Ofer mentioned will be important for them in the future.
