What is the current behavior?
In force layout, spring repulsion force is always calculated and applied to the nodes in the graph. The resulting drawing is less compact than the drawing without spring repulsion.
What is the expected behavior?
If we only apply the spring repulsion force when the node is close to the spring we expect to keep drawings relatively compact.
What is the motivation / use case for changing the behavior?
The goal is to keep drawings compact while reducing number of crossings.
