Specifying endpoint in config YAML

I feel like I'm missing something, but it feels odd to me that I specify the JSONPath in the config file but not the endpoint.

For beginners to this exporter (like me), this leads to confusion because the obvious question is: "the json_exporter knows which metric I care about (and how to retrieve it) but it doesn't know where to go and retrieve it".

To me, this is counterintuitively set in Prometheus.

As I say, I feel like I'm missing some foundational knowledge that would help explain this design decision. Can anyone help?
