I have such a weird issue with my Freenove ESP32S3 Wroom cam. It is flashed with version 1.1.2 and powered by a genuine Arduino 5V / 3A PSU.
However, it does not respond when sitting still at my desk. I only got one initial screenshot sent to Prusa Connect, and I cannot open the device's control page.
... Until... I physically touch the Pins 5V and 13 on the pinout. 🤯
I accidentally discovered it by picking it up when suddenly, the page refreshed. At first, I thought I had positioned it to receive a better WiFi signal, but every time I held it solely on the USB-C cable, it became unresponsive again.
Long story short: It doesn't matter at which position or angle I hold the device. The camera responds immediately as long as my fingers bridge both mentioned pins. I also excluded Pin 14, which sits between both pins, from having an effect by carefully not touching it.
Pins 5V and 13 bridged: Working!
Not touched: unresponsive!
Human skin has high electrical resistance, so I wouldn't want to shorten both pins with a metal wire. I could use a high-ohm resistor. However, it is weird to me that, presumably, pin 13 needs some pull-up for the cam module to work.
Does anyone have an explanation?
Cheers,
Martin
