Sometimes we are notified that a faculty member has been here for a couple years, but they don't have an AI account. Typically this happens when the faculty go from Part-Time to Full-Time faculty.
So we create their account in AI and then start importing the back data, like Courses taught and Contract/Grant data. Unfortunately, we can't do that with the FAMS Tool because the new account is not in the FAMS Tool yet. We need to be able to update the users in the FAMS tools either by clicking on a button that starts the job of checking accounts or by being able to add the account manually. The reason we want to use the FAMS Tool to do these imports is because it locks the data as Read Only for faculty and they can't change the data once it is imported, we can still import using AI, but we can't lock the data.
