Installation issue

HI! I am a new python user and trying to get py-smps work. I could install it using the pip install py-smps --pre command but when I am importing it in Spyder using import py-smps or even import smps, I am getting an error saying no module smps found.
I am looking for some help here. I guess it should have something to do with python version or something but since I am new Python user, it is a bit hard to troubleshoot stuff by myself.

Also, do you know if you're using Conda in Spyder? (curious if it's the same as this build issue)

Hi! Is this what you wanted to see? This is what I am getting in command window.
Also for your question regarding spyder, I just downloaded it separately and not in conda. Also this issue remains even if I use jupyter notebook.

Got it, thanks for the information! It's good to know that it's being installed somewhere, so now it's just a question of why it can't be found when installed.

For the stacktrace, it should start with something like Traceback (most recent call last) -- please send the full text from that point on and we can take a look.

Thanks, that is useful! It does seem to imply you're using Anaconda, but I suspect the main issue you're having now is that you want:

import smps

and not

import py_smps

Let us know if that helps or changes the error message. You might end up running into the same issue as this since it's Anaconda and we have a packaging issue there...

Yes indeed. Even if i use import smps I get the similar result
