Fileflows HDR10+ Inject Metadata help

Hi,

I understand this might not technically be related but I've been told to ask here anyway. I've been having issues with a script to automate injecting HDR10+ metadata into a transcoded file. Do you have any idea what the issue could be?

You are right but let me translate maybe it helps.

These are the commands this script is executing in order:

1. Extract hevc stream from current file:
   ffmpeg -i currentFile.mkv -map 0:v:0 -c copy -nostdin -y originalHEVCStream.hevc

2. Extract metadata from hevc stream:
   hdr10plus_tool extract -i originalHEVCStream.hevc -o metadata.json

3. Create new hevc stream:
   ffmpeg -i currentFile.mkv -map 0:v:0 -c copy -nostdin -y newHEVCStream.hevc

4. Inject metadata into hevc stream:
   hdr10plus_tool inject -j metadata.json -i newHEVCStream.hevc -o outputHEVCStream.hevc

5. Lastly create new file with injected hevc stream:
   ffmpeg -i outputHEVCStream.hevc -i currentFile.mkv -map 0:v:0 -map 1 -map -1:v:0 -c copy -nostdin -y output,mkv

This then results in an error:

Timestamps are unset in a packet for stream 0. This is deprecated and will stop working in the future. Fix your code to set the timestamps properly.
Can't write packet with unknown timestamp.

You would be better off using mkvmerge instead of FFmpeg for the final mux.
This is a FFmpeg question, not related to this.
