cryus-sasl supports other than PLAIN. the role supports PLAIN, only.

cyrus-sasl is able to proxy authentication requests, but i have seen few applications that support SASL. notable ones include various SMTP, POP, and IMAP applications, and some LDAP applications. most of applications implement native protocols instead of SASL.

in our use cases, argus is the only application that needs SASL. until we need it with other applications, pending.
