I really dislike the easy-to-print lower halfs that are mostly used nowadays, so can I print the original lower half/case and use it with the generated top half?

I'd love to have the original lower case be auto-generated here too 😁. I find the clojure+openscad combination both the original and manuform dactyls are based upon to be difficult to use, so I probably won't be integrating it here unless I feel really motivated.
With some openscad-fu you might be able to take the model the generator gives you with "Include case" turned off and combine it with the original keyboard. However, if the sizes don't match up then you'll need to generate a new bottom from the original dactyl project.
You might also be interested in the legged case design I have in Cosmos where all my keyboard-related development is happening. It's inspired by the original lower half but not exactly the same (I have pictures of the case design in the project's blog). However, the particular design with legs is part of the paid featureset of Cosmos and not part of the open source project, so if you're looking for something free I suggest using adereth's original generator to generate the full model.
