Nested objects in existing target mappings should preserve the existing instance if possible. Currently always a new instance of the nested object is created.

I'm running into the exact same problem, is there a workaround by using a usermapping? its kind of necessary when updating 'complex' objects in efcore without getting tracking errors

I don't believe there's a workaround available at the moment.
