I am refactoring legacy rmagic code around graphics devices to allow more extensibility in rpy2/rpy2#1144. I am wondering if this could be considered a type of graphical device.

I did get excited getting a notification about rpy2/rpy2#1144! I am not actively using rpy2-ipython-display anymore (but still use rpy2). I think this package provided a little bit more than a graphical device but I did not go through rpy2/rpy2#1144 in depth yet.
