Good concern, but if you check out the code, you'll see there's not much TO it. Joybox's greatest feature is that it vendors Cocos2d and Box2d for you, and second to that is it makes Box2d's C++ API available in rubymotion.

Cocos2d, once it's compiled, can be used as-is, since it is mostly Obj-C classes.

My $0.02 is that it's pretty much the same as just using vanilla Cocos2d for rubymotion.

also, not sure if you noticed, but joybox.io seems to be dead.
