What would be the best place to generate provider lockfiles?

Our team is using a mix of devices, and often times, lockfiles aren't generated for Linux AMD64 (which is what our Atlantis installation is running on).

I'm thinking I can add –

terraform providers lock -platform=windows_amd64 -platform=darwin_amd64 -platform=linux_amd64

to a pre-workflow hook, but would that work?

Are you getting an error if you do not run this?

Do you currently commit the lock files?

Try it and see if it works. It would be nice to not have to worry about it locally.

If this works, maybe it can be done by atlantis itself

I am getting an error when I run this on Atlantis. And yes, we do commit the lock files.

My question is rather – how do I automate this so users don't have to keep generating cross-platform providers? Can I do it on the fly on Atlantis?
