I see quite a bit of shaking in Pluto and moons of various planets (E.g. Uranus-Titania).

Clearly, you have put a lot of effort into this project; the design and implementation are excellent.

Wish-list (clearly, your time is valuable; you don't need me for project ideas):

  • Correct shapes of Phobos and Deimos.
  • Select a planet or moon by clicking on orbit.
  • Volcano activity on io and plumes on Enceladus and Europa (just for fun).
  • 2014 MU69 i.e. "Ultima Thule" when we get more data and some images in early January 2019.

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you like the project. I have a few notes on your bullet points below.

Select a planet or moon by clicking on orbit.

Agreed, I've wanted to do this for a while.

Correct shapes of Phobos and Deimos.

This would be nice. Will add this to the feature list.

Volcano activity on io and plumes on Enceladus and Europa

☝️Probably the best feature request I've had so far 😄 One day.

2014 MU69 i.e. "Ultima Thule

This would definitely be cool. Thanks for that suggestion.

Regarding the shaking, it's due to the scale of the overall 3D scene. The orbits are made of up connected line segments, the further out you go, the longer each segment becomes which leads to the "wobble" as each frame renders. I could probably make adjustments for that at some point.

Also open to contributions if you feel like submitting a pull request 😉
