The public instance works perfectly in Safari, but in Firefox (134.0.2, macOS 15.1) I get this error:

Could not establish a WebSocket connection.

I've tested this in a new Firefox profile with no extensions, and had friends confirm the same issue in Firefox on Windows and Linux.

Thank you. I was able to reproduce this on Firefox 134.0.1 on MacOS.

Chrome also seems to be affected.

Same here, on Floorp (Firefox fork) and Chromium. Running Fedora 41 KDE

And also vanilla Firefox

Restarting the rendezvous server unfortunately did not resolve this.

It seems to have to do with the WebSocket connection failing for some reason:

The connection to wss://screensy.marijn.it/ was interrupted while the page was loading.

I think it is strange though that it does work on Safari. Did something in the browser change?

@Stef-Gijsberts can you provide some input? I have no idea why this suddenly broke without any code change.

I also don't see anything out of the ordinary in the Caddy or screensy logs.

This has been fixed by downgrading to Caddy 2.8. I am unsure what Caddy 2.9 changed that broke this.

This might be the cause: caddyserver/caddy#6740
