refine Shiny Gadget

In the first draft in #26, the app looks like:

I'd like it to be very, very small, and immediately set the cursor inside of the window with no pre-filled text so that the user can type immediately. As the user types in the name of the pal, the selection will attempt to autocomplete and as soon as it does correctly, the user can press Enter and exit the application.

I'd still like this to feel even more minimal, almost like a tooltip. Still quite boxy.
