I'm Colin Stewart, a senior developer from Belfast, Ireland.

I've been a developer since 2003, when I started in desktop software and game development (C++, Lua). A gaming community needed a website -> Enter HTML, CSS and Javascript. It had to be dynamic -> Enter PHP and MySQL. Server issues? -> Enter server management. Over the years, I've learned and worked with around 13-14 programming, scripting and markup languages and a range of server architecture as need arose.

My client work has mainly focused on the community and voluntary, educational and rights-based sectors, although I have a significant catalogue of commerical work too.

In 2019-2020, including pre-pandemic, personal needs required that I make drastic changes to my workload to fit my capacity (for a time, this was virtually zero). During 2020, my capacity improved and in 2021, I became a WordPress Core contributor.

On a personal level, working with such a great community and delivering bugfixes, enhancements and new features for 43% of the web made a world of difference, and hopefully my contributions have had the same effect on others.

I've been a Noteworthy Contributor to WordPress Core since WordPress 5.9 (my first full release cycle). I maintain the Upgrade/Install and Filesystem API components, was Triage Lead on the WordPress 6.0 and 6.2 release squads, I'm a member of the Core and Test teams and a mentor for new contributors, and became a WordPress Core committer in August 2023.

In addition to nearly 1000 WordPress Trac tickets and several repositories which I've contributed to since 2021, I've also been on the teams developing the Rollback and Plugin Dependencies features for WordPress.

All my contributions have come out of personal time, and while I intend to continue as best I can, your sponsorship will enable me to continue contributing to the community to the same level going into the future. Your support is much appreciated!
