<h2>Abstract</h2>
Design a system that tracks moving vehicles within a space and gets the location approximately in real time. This system will be modified and adapted for the Tum-Tums in the institute.
<div>
<strong>Problems Faced</strong>:
</div>
<div>
1.Non Plain Terrain
</div>
<div>
2.Tree cover
</div>
<div>
3.Monsoon season
</div>
<div>
4.Reliability
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<strong>Past attempts in the project</strong> :
</div>
<div>
1. Procuring position through <span class="caps">GPS</span> and transmitting through <span class="caps">GPRS</span> modules.
</div>
<div>
-Cost is an issue – both upfront and recurring,
</div>
<div>
-This will be very similar to the <span class="caps">GPS</span> trasceivers that are commercially available.Hence we feel it’ll not be an innovation, just a hack.
</div>
<div>
-Availability of the <span class="caps">GPS</span> signal strength will have to tested
</div>
<div>
-The system will be robust and reliable, as either <span class="caps">GPS</span> position measurement or transmission is error free
</div>
<p>
2. Using Xbees abd Ethernet modules
</p>
<div>
The buses and stops are loaded with Xbees, and position of the bus can be approximated to the nearest bus stop. From there, data is transmitted over Ethernet cables to the web, where data is processed and sent back over Ethernet again
</div>
<div>
-Wired solution is not feasible in monsoons
</div>
<div>
-Too much interdependence on other organisations like CC and others
</div>
<div>
-Unsure of cable costs
</div>
