It seems to me this sometimes works and sometimes fails. So maybe the test has a race condition?

It's not in the cmake https://github.com/strands-project/strands_executive/blob/hydro-release/task_executor/CMakeLists.txt#L128

but check https://github.com/strands-project/strands_executive/blob/hydro-release/task_executor/tests/scheduled_exe_tester.py#L3 Maybe that's the culprit???
