Rust is a nice language for safe system programming. @tjarker showed how to get Rust to the bare metal with his RISC-V core in an FPGA. We should also aim to get Rust running on Patmos. Rust is also a target for Lingua Franca and there might be some work in the future of generating a static schedule in Rust. This would be a very nice fit for Patmos.
