Daily wallpaper doesn't update on auto-dark mode

I have set my phone to go into dark mode automatically at specific time of the day.
I have set OLauncher to System theme and Daily Wallpaper to ON.
In the morning, the OLauncher theme is correctly set to Light mode, but the wallpaper is the dark wallpaper for the same day. I confirmed it's the wallpaper for the same day looking at https://gist.githubusercontent.com/tanujnotes/85e2d0343ace71e76615ac346fbff82b/raw.

When does the wallpaper exactly update?
Does it update at specific times for daily wallpaper (say 12 AM)?
Does it update whenever the theme changes?
What happens when it's not able to fetch the wallpaper during theme change? Does it every try again?
Does it actually know when the wallpaper was correctly set or not?

You don't need to answer all these questions! This is just my thought process :)
