Sorry for the late response; this issue report seems to have slipped by everyone's attention.

I think the problem you describe was likely an issue with the older cBioPortal version on which this Dockerisation setup was stuck at the time. We've since updated it to cBioPortal v2.1.0, which required Dockerising the ‘cBioPortal session service’ to make things work smoothly. If you're still having this issue, could you try deploying the latest version of this setup?
