Provide parameters for pagination in explorer interface

In preparation for #581, the explorer interface will need to be updated so returned sets can be limited in the backend, where this is possible. We can then also independantly from the explorer already support this in the api. For now no work in the explorer is needed (see linked issue for that), this would mean we already have the API and frontend ready once we do the work on the backend
