Docker-Compose.yml with Public Folder mounted

Hello Community.
I use a working compose file with the image kimai/kimai2:apache-latest.
I mounted the volumes:
-./kimai_var:/opt/kimai/var
-./kimai_img:/opt/kimai/img

which is working fine.
As i need to Change some things in the public folder (eg. touch-icons and so on) i have an 502 bad Gateway error when mounting
-./kimai_public:/opt/kimai/public

Does anyone know about that issue or can't i simply mount other volumes than the two above?

So you want to use your own icon, in order to hide that it is Kimai? I like the error^^

You always need to use the files from the latest version from this directory.
You cannot simply use some old version of this directory.
You have to do this step every time an update is released: sync the files from public out to your mounted directory, then replace the ones you want, then re-mount.

That is a broken workflow.
So I'd say you need to role your own image instead and CP the files you want to replace at build time.

Anyway: I say this is out of scope and neither supported by Kimai nor by the docker image.

Nobody said that it is about to hide "kimai", i simply don't like the green "play" icon ;) and it wasn't a problem to change it when it was on our shared hosting.
Next thing is that i have to change the robots.txt but it doesn't matter....

Yes i could take the files and make an own image, but I simply don't understand why i can't mount the volume because if i run apache local i can edit all files without a gateway error.

1. Are you using the latest files from the latest release?
2. Are you sure that you are using the correct file permissions? The index.php is in this directory ...
3. Localhost is much simpler in many ways than Docker. Docker is easy if you use it as provided.

Oh and I am not going to continue here. Maybe someone else can help with more docker experience..

@empx92 I don't see the public folder mounted in that docker compose. You could overwrite individual files rather than the whole directory, that way they will persist after upgrades but that becomes risky if things change in those files.

yes that is my productivy file so its without the mounting.
the problem is, that i'm kinda new to docker :D i thought simply mount the "public volume" and it works.
could you may please tell me how to overwrite individual files?

same way as volumes?
