How to insert a new line between day of the week and date

In Event Mode, I have the date formatted "ddd D" to yield "Tue 5" for 05Nov24 (see screenshot below). What I would like is for Tue to be on one line and 5 to be right underneath, such as:

Tue
5

Obviously, the event(s) would still be to the right. I would have thought the correct format would be eventDateFormat: ddd\nD, but that only creates "Tue\n5". I also tried ddd<br>D but no luck. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?
