Long delay on logging on; 1GB memory used

As the last reviewer mentioned, when logging in there is a long delay of a few seconds. Also the extension will use roughly 1gig of ram.
This has been a problem for a few months now. Strange thing is the problem goes away sometimes, then a few days later it comes back.

Tested this on two different Gnome distro's and happens on both of them.
Fedora 39 and 40
Bazzite 3.6 - 3.7

Cannot reproduce on GNOME 47 / Arch Linux. Please provide the steps to reproduce it in the current stable (supported) GNOME version.
