License question #2
Comments
Maybe. Do you have any suggestions? |
Apart from the above you mean? Not direct recommendation, but if you're still looking I can recommend you this list and the candidates there which are approved by OSI/FSF. |
I'll probably go with MIT or GPLv3, as I always do. |
Thanks! Please give me a ping here once the license is up 😃 |
Do you have anything particular in mind? I mean, do you want to contribute to the app, or maybe just use it? (or parts of it) |
I thought of adding it to my repo to make it easier to access for folks not having access to PlayStore. My repo is the largest 3rd party F-Droid repo with about 1k apps currently and widely used. But as with F-Droid's own repo, apps must be FOSS and have a license declared to enter it. That's my way of contributing, not being an Android dev. While doing so I'd also set up metadata for apps using Fastlane structures, which I then gladly offer via a PR so the app authors get in control of how their apps are presented – and as a side-effect solve one piece helpful to have them enter F-Droid's own repo if they want to. |
As I didn't see any license mentioned I just wonder if you'll adopt the MIT license from the linked project for the Android app as well?
