Remote building, caches and substitutors

We could have an episode about remote building:

• How to setup a remote builder and configure a client to use it (especially without the remote build user being in the builder's nix trusted-users for security)
• Same for substitutors and caches

With a bit of reasonable best practices sprinkled in.

Could one build a derivation on arm darwin (qemu?) and push that to a intel linux box?
Or what about pushing to a SBC that only has 2MB of RAM?
Things like that I would find interesting.
