PSL colleagues have observed that the ice temperature remains at freezing point in the coupled UFS ATM output during summer, even though it is above freezing in the CICE model. EMC colleagues confirmed that when the atmospheric model receives the ice temperature, it reads above freezing. It appears that the atmospheric model is resetting the above-freezing ice temperature to freezing point. This resetting should be eliminated to allow the CICE model to determine the ice temperature.
