The readme says that this library will become deprecated once haskell/cabal#2327 is closed, and it's closed but this library is still afaict necessary. The description also references that issue.

I'm in process of removing of cabal v1-doctest as it simply doesn't work (one can argue, never worked). There aren't issue for creating v2-doctest.

Feel free to make a PR clarifying that in README.
