Teams Competition

Hi Csaba,

I would like to know if you can help me to understand the best way to handle a teams competition for each discipline individually. In my specific case, I want a single ranking and competition for each style, should I use a single event or create a new one for each style. Since I do not have many teams registered, 4 or 3 maximum for each style, should I use only one pool? Is it safe to handle the event this way?

Also, I'm not able to exclude any session in teams competition, neither finals, qualifications or any new one that I create.

Thanks for the attention and looking foward for yoyur response.

Regards,

Hi Agata,

It depends. If you have the same teams with different disciplines (age categories) and it's not a problem to organize the matches across all the disciplines in one "round" (have fights following each other for all the disciplines), then you can have a single event. Just add all the weight categories you would like to cover and add their athletes.
But this way, you will only have an overall ranking and won't be able to determine team ranking for every single age category.

If it's a problem from "split ranking" point of view, or the teams are different for the age categories, you can't group them under a single event, you must create an event for each category.

In terms of excluding a session, if you don't move fights to a session, it will be excluded automatically. However I don't know if I understood your question properly.

Oh I see, for my situtation it's better to create separete events, since I need separete ranking for each style.

My question is about how the pools system operates. I only have four teams registered in the event, should I use only one pool. At the end of the pool round robin confrotations, will the ranking be ready and avaiable ?

The pool system is designed to collect teams to 2 pools and organize Round Robin match between the teems in both pools. Then the 1st ranked teams will compete against each other for Gold, 2nd ranked teams for Bronze and the 3rd ranked teams for the 5th place.

If you have just a few teams participating in the team competition, it's going to be tough.

I've heard, some user used the individual event to register the team names as athlete and let Arena manage the "rounds" between them. The individual matches between teams were managed outside of Arena and only the final results between the teams were registered under the "individual" event.
That way you can chose the appropriate bracket type for the skeleton of the competition (Round robin even for more than 8 teams...; or Bracket for 6+ teams; etc) which determines which team must compete against the others, but the team matches are noted outside of Arena.

Just to be sure, If I only use one pool, there is not anyway I can generate a final ranking of the roundrobin, so is it safer to handle the event outside the system?

But, if I have four teams, and use 2 teams per pool, things gonna work great, correct? The event starts in 2 hours here rs :0

Also, last doubt, I guess, can't I print fight order for teams tournament?
