I didn't find board-cols in docs until I did a find on the page. If you just skim the document, then it looks like that feature doesn't exist. Nested rows have an own header, column spans could also.

It's in the section "Basic Configuration", because we believe it fits there. Any specific suggestions?

Add an own menu item called nested items or expanded items or something similar.
