I manage my own profiles, to easily share USE flag settings, masks, unmasks, ... between different hosts I manage.
In that sense, just like a user would in /etc/portage, I have things that become outdated.
Is this something eix-test-obsolete would be able to help out with?

Not planned and not feasible.
I recommend instead of sharing a profile to share subdirectories of /etc/portage/package.*.
You can also put a link to the shared subdirectories there (and so in the end you have to share only one directory tree which is probably the reason why you use a profile for sharing).
