In order to properly implement this Epic we need first of all to have a way to measure the reliability so that we can show enhancements.

We had a session today about measuring reliability from the Waku point of view. The conclusions we reached are:

  • The DST team will take care of the waku-relay reliability.
  • The nwaku team will help to measure and analyse the lighpush/filter reliability from within nwaku.
    • It is quite open how the implementation will be but the idea is to have some nodes scattered in the network and measure how lightpushed messages are being delivered through filter protocol.
    • The networkmonitor can be used as a reference on how to implement this reliability measurement tool.
    • The work made by DST can be very helpful to apply a similar approach within lightpush/filter.
  • We leave the Store reliability analysis for the future. Notice that we haven't completed the Sync protocol.
  • The measures should leave the status-go codebase aside.
