Possible UX improvement to drive up donations

You ask every new user directly for a donation... i guess the conversion rate on this isn't very high 😉
You are asking for money before i could even look at the site at all.

In my opinion a much better way would be to skip the whole donation thing after sign up. (why should i donate for a site that is unusable for three days as a new member?) and instead display the info about donations as soon as the user got his first host (or maybe guest)
