The draft metric may need to be made logarithmic. For many geometries there are sharp local peaks for angles which result in rotated coordinate systems parallel to the original frame. Often CAD models have many surfaces whose normals are parallel to the original frame, and far fewer in other directions. See about improving the draft metric.
