The OM&TA ontology has the main goal of describing the relation between material and techniques in art.
In order to be representative of the domain and since each artwork is a complex object the ontology tries to inglobe and represent every element that can have its specific technique or material, e.g inscriptions or signatures.
The website of the project is accessible at this link.
If you want to take a look directly at the ontolgy, see the documentation visualized through LODE
In order to populate the knowledge graph some data have been extracted from the catalogues "Italian Paintings: A Catalogue of the Collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art" freely available from The MET Collection.
This ontology has been developed as the final project for the course "Knowledge Representation and Extraction" of the MA "Digital Humanities and Digital Knowledge" of the University of Bologna.
All copyrights and related rights about the data used in the Knowledge Graph remains to their original owners.
