It is very useful to use the CDC baseline forecaster as a comparison to other models. However, the API in the link is aimed at quantile based forecasts.

This suggests that we should have the capability to compare/score models using metrics that are suited to quantiles, e.g. WIS.

You can use the scoringutils converter to go from samples to quantiles if you like
