We use Netlify to automatically stage our pull requests. Netlify has a GitHub App that has been added to our repo to enables this. You can find the login and password for Netlify in Valentine. Search for "web.devrel Netlify".

Projects

  • The Netlify project for web.dev is called web-dev-staging.
  • The Netlify project for developer.chrome.com is called developer-chrome-com.

Configuration

Both sites use the same simple configuration, which can be found under Site settings > Build & deploy (screenshot)

At the bottom of the page, under the Deploy Notifications heading, you can configure the kinds of notifications that Netlify will post on the PR (screenshot).

⚠️ Netlify isn't as expressive as what we can do with Firebase, so sometimes the redirects and URLs might be subtly different.
