What: Manual highlighting the new regulations related to greening software and emissions/impact reporting, and what companies will be held accountable for and when.
Why: There is a plethora of new legislation coming out that will impact companies and how they report on environmental impacts and its overwhelming, not everyone knows of all the requirements facing them and when they need to get their ducks in a row to best reflect their performance.
How: Wiki on PWG repo? Similar to what we did for Carbon Hack 24, allowing the content to stay dynamic.

NEXT STEPS

  • Confirm project part of 2024 roadmap
  • Introduce activity in upcoming PWG meeting for approval
  • Develop list of new regulations and policies related to greening software and emissions/impact reporting #72
  • Complete Content Planning; outline the structure and organization of the Policy Manual and define categories and sections if required
  • Establish a process for updating the Policy Manual as new regulations emerge
  • Collect initial input and requirements from stakeholders
  • Draft initial content for the Policy Manual based on regulatory information provided by the PWG and collaborators
  • Outline the structure and organization of the Policy Manual
  • Implement a review process for the Policy Manual content
  • Make necessary revisions based on feedback
  • Set up the Wiki feature within the repository
  • Solicit feedback from users to identify areas for improvement
  • Obtain formal project closure and approval from the PWG to initiatate promotion
